New Publication: „Care to share? Experimental evidence on code sharing behavior in the social sciences“
29.08.2023
Do social scientists share their research code (i.e. do-files, R scripts) upon request? What influences their code sharing behavior and can micro interventions increase compliance? In a recent article published in PLOS One, Daniel Krähmer, Laura Schächtele, and Andreas Schneck tackle these questions. The results from this large-scale field experiment suggest that (1) code sharing remains the exception rather than the rule among social scientists, and (2) large-scale interventions are needed to ensure the availability of research code.
