Environmental Study Bavaria

sustainability-3295757_640Goals and Contents

In Spring 2018, a survey on the theme of the environment is to be organized in selected Bavarian communities.

Issues of environmental protection are given comprehensive attention in public debate. The survey is therefore aimed at acquiring more in-depth knowledge about environmental attitudes and environment-related behavior. We are, for instance, interested in finding out what kind of transport people chose for what distance and the reasons for their choice. Furthermore, we are interested in people's attitudes towards various measures in the field of environmental protection, which are currently being discussed.

We are going to examine, for example, the factors influencing the assessment of various models for a congestion charge and what aspects should be taken into account in the interviewees' eyes when working out a congestion charge.

Results

You can find results of the project in this report (PDF, 1,3MB, in German). The respondents show a quite pronounced ecological awareness. Various measures to improve air quality are broadly accepted. The acceptance of a potential city toll depends, among other factors, on its effectiveness in improving air quality as well as on its cost-effectiveness.

Information for Interviewees

The questionnaires are accompanied by detailed information on the project, on the selection of the interviewees and on data protection. You may also download the information sheet here (PDF in German, 464 kB).

A report featuring the focal results of the survey will be available on this site in Autumn 2018.
